DWELL IN THE NOW

It snowed today the 19th of March. People were remembering that one year ago today it was 82 degrees. They were moaning and groaning that this winter is lasting too long and resenting the fresh new 3-inch blanket of white.

The Lord has taught me how to drop out of time, (I am immortal after all) and to savor what is. I can not only address the ” sufficient evil” of the moment but also taste and see that the Lord is good.

I noticed that most mortals are imagining that they will be happy later, at recess, in the evening after school, on vacation, when they finish the current event or task. Even when they are on vacation they are fussing because it won’t last.

I enjoy the breaks when the breaks arrive, but I keep no record of time to spoil the moment, no idea of how long winter should last or how was it last year. Therefore I am one of the few lucky souls in western Michigan to enjoy our wildly variable weather. For I have learned by God’s grace, in whatsoever condition I find myself – therewith to be content

LORD HELP ME TO MEET YOU IN MY PRESENT AND BE CONTENT WITH WHAT YOU HAVE BROUGHT TO ME, LETTING YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE THROUGH MY YIELDED MEMBERS.
