My wife really, really, really likes Christmas. The day after Christmas she says, “Well, 364 more days to Christmas”. As soon as it is reasonable to put up Christmas lights they go up and stay up until the neighbors start to complain.
I have to admit that I have become a “Christmas nut” myself. Still Christmases down here on planet earth are always marred. The godless Russians fire Rockets at Ukraine on Christmas Day, people drive crazy and harass each other during Christmas shopping etc.
But can you imagine celebrating Christmas where everybody is exhibiting the fruits of the spirit loving on each other, being patient, kind, and gentle grateful, helpful, encouraging etc. etc.
O, there will be a lot of remembering in heaven. celebrating the most miraculous event in all history and all time will certainly carry a central space in heaven. As a doctor, God creating, from nothing, all the genetic information within Mary’s egg to cause the God-man to become, is bizarrely miraculous. the creator became the created and once again Adam had a faultless descendent who could resist temptation, claim the world back and pay for the redemption of the rest of Adam’s race.
So what’s not to celebrate? There will never again be the creation of a God-man. No one will ever again go to the cross, for in that he died he died once for all. So of course we will celebrate forever and ever.
We should remember that God really likes passion. The devil tries to steal passion and make us think the passion is somehow sinful. but he loved passionate people, Jacob wrestling with them and refusing to let go to blackouts, combined man that refuses to be told to shut up etc. I think that the Christmases in heaven will be way more exciting and passionate than anything we have experience down here.
Much to my wife’s delight, there will be no weird Santa Clauses. However we might chat with the real St. Nicholas and find out all the other cool things God led him to do. There’ll be trees and just maybe, the tree of life looks like a Christmas tree and the fruit will look like ornaments.. If we like we can leave our decorations up all year and no one will care.
And Christmas is so much about hanging out with friends and family and eating good food. Now, can you imagine a better place to do that then and haven? And God will even help all the family members to get along! Now there is a miracle
What about presents why don’t think we’ll go to mega stores and by plastic things. I think we’ll have the skills tools in time to make wonderful presents for each other.
I know my wife and I didn’t light in the Christmas story one thing I look forward to his to hear more of the story. Don’t you one has to shepherds what it was like or what the Wiseman encountered on her trip to and from. And did didn’t keep her who gave them his stableever find a relationship with the baby that was born there.
Yes I will enjoy Christmas is down here as long as alert leaves me and then enjoyed him even more through all eternity
