satiated and still thirst?

The old comment said that if you eat chinese food, you will soon feel hungry again and want more. But is that so bad?

We are to hunger and thirst for righteousness and we will be filled. Is that the end? “So now I’m filled so it is time to coast.

It almost feels wrong to long for more and more.

But if God has designed us to have an emptiness that only he can fill. If he is truly infinite, if all pleasure comes from finding an emptiness and letting it be filled, then, if he wants us to have infinite joy for an infinite future, we need to get used to asking, receiving and longing for more and more of him.

It is not that his giving is skimpy but rather that we can only hold so much right now. Then as we receive, we are stretched and are able to receive even more. Take his holy word, have you reached the end of it talking to you and stretching you? I sincerely hope not. I find new insights to thrill my soul every time I read it and even the “boring” parts start to show me things.

Ask and you will receive with the gift pressed down, heaped up and running over. Just make sure we ask with the right goals. Not to consume it upon our lust to look wise or superior or to control others but to:

Know Jesus more, love others more, have treasure to share with others more, have more wisdom to handle life in ways that work, worship him with more understanding. “How do I love you Jesus? Let me count the ways!” Then let the list grow ever longer

More about Jesus would I know more of his love to others show more more about Jesus!

It is a beautiful circle. We ask, he gives, we worship, we grow, we give to others, we become aware of thirst for more, we ask, he gives, we grow… well, you get the picture.

Like the woman at the well we will be like an artesian well with water endlessly springing up inside and out of our bellies will flow water from God that brings life to all around us! Those around us will thrive in rivers of the Spirit’s love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, and faith John 7:34, Galatians 5:22

One reply on “satiated and still thirst?”

O how love I thy LAW! it is my meditation all the day. Psalm 119:97. How we should hunger and thirst for the Word of God! We as God’s children ought to love and desire to hear from the LORD daily and not let go until we hear from Him! If we hungered and desired God’s Word we would be better off in our lives. God wants us to desire HIM and He wants us to know Him intimately.Thank you for sharing this post today. I enjoy reading them. Love you so much.
