When we eat simple carbs (such as sugar, white flour, and corn syrup), we feed enemy bacteria which proliferate and eat the mucus lining. They then eat the connective tissue between the cells that line the gut. Now bits of food leak into the blood, triggering a constant immune response which turns into constant inflammation and causes all other illnesses even depression and anxiety. This “Leaky Gut Syndrome” is obviously bad.
There is another type of “Leaky Gut” that is good!
God’s word says that out of our bellies should flow rivers of living water. John 7:38 The woman at the well was told, “If you knew me, you would ask and I would give you the gift of living water. John 4:10 This living water is the natural result of the work of the Holy Spirit within us.
Living water is full of vigor, active, and powerful, bringing life to us and to others. To be living water, it must flow into us and out of us. There were, in the time of Christ on earth, Mikvas or ritual cleansing pools. Some were stagnant and probably bread illness others had water flowing into and out of them and were healing.
If we want the power, life, healing, and cleansing of the Holy Spirit, then we must take what he gives us and share share share.
- Share his burden for others by praying without ceasing for all we meet and all that he brings to our hearts.
- Share the words of life, “I was meditating on God’s word and he gave me the following comfort and truth”.
- Share our time and resources. These are both gifts from the Lord to me for me to enjoy and steward for his glory and the welfare of others.
- Share our listening ears and seeing eyes, “I hear you and will pray, I see you and I care.”
- Share our experiences, “In my life, I have found that the following helps.”
- Share our talents. God has given each of us different skills for the welfare of the whole so that when all the parts of the body give, then the whole body, fitly joined together and commanded by the head, (Jesus) makes increase of life and beauty and edification. Ephesians 4:16
Sharing is scary if we are sharing from our own limited resources we fear that we will not have enough to go around. So share from God’s infinite resources. Sharing is scary if our own worth and dignity are connected to the other person’s appreciation. God says to bless others even if they curse us as a result. He says to give to people who cannot give in return. Cast our bread on the waters even if you don’t get to see if it is received or what happens to it. Leave the outcome, and the remembering to him and grab the sharing for you.
Remember that we can not outgive the Lord. The more we share the fresher and livelier the water within us flows and the more refreshing it will be to us and those around us.
